Beauty, Art, Literature, and Music are the balm for the soul. Couple them with occasional solitude and contemplative writing and you have the perfect recipe for indescribable joy and calm. Poetry, Art, and Literature open doors to the soul; these are avenues to connect to the deeper self and the underpinnings of human psyche. These are best used and appreciated in a non-rational way as they have to be felt and experienced rather than analyzed with our limited rational attributes.\u00a0These aesthetic tools provide inroads to the deeper, more honest parts of the brain. Language has limitations snd cannot fully map the true origins, intent, and purpose of our thoughts. However, poetry has powerful attributes; it is like a teabag with herbs, which can be brought to life with music. That is why poetry with its language, imagery, alliteration, and metaphor is so powerful. Poetry becomes an even more immersive experience when it is coupled with music, be it the musicality of language or the addition of instruments. Urdu has a magical cadence when spoken properly and seems to made for poetry. Its rich vocabulary and syntax lend themselves to poetry, sufism, ghazal, and music.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are an amalgam of our conscious mind, individual subconscious, and a collective subconscious. There are psychological archetypes in all of us, which explains the conflation of religious symbolism across time. We think along certain planes and have limitations. It is thus useful to understand these commonalities of our psyches. That being said, each one of us is also neurodivergent in countless ways. We consume, possess, process, and retrieve information in very different ways. We are differently abled. There is no one size fits all for our species and therein lie the challenges of creating social systems and order, which are, by definition, an anathema to our constitution. Neurodivergence also needs to be kept in mind and the interpretation of poetry, art, and literature can be thought of as a Rorschach test for the psyche.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
